About Tapestry
Tapestry Arts Festival is Temasek Polytechnic’s annual student-driven celebration of the arts, presented by the Temasek Arts Centre (TAC). Since its beginnings in 2022 with MOVE and MELODY, Tapestry has continued to evolve — growing through editions such as Metamorphosis and Flux into a space where students come together to create, experiment and tell stories in new ways. At its heart, Tapestry is about creativity, collaboration and the possibilities that emerge when different art forms, ideas and people meet.
From 28 September to 25 October 2026, Tapestry returns as LIMINAL — an exploration of the spaces in between. Inspired by the idea of standing at a threshold between what has been and what comes next, LIMINAL looks at moments of transition, uncertainty, connection and change. Through a series of original works and experiences, students are invited to step beyond the familiar, cross disciplines and discover what might exist on the other side.
Beyond the performances, Tapestry also believes in the power of the arts to create impact beyond the stage. Net proceeds from ticket sales will support Project Chey in Cambodia, in partnership with the TP Community Service Club, extending the spirit of creativity, connection and community beyond the festival itself.
Across a series of original multidisciplinary works, LIMINAL explores questions of change, identity, belonging, memory, responsibility and transformation.
But Tapestry is more than a collection of performances.
At the heart of the festival is the creative journey itself. Students work across disciplines and alongside alumni, artists and industry practitioners to research, question, experiment, devise and create original work. Theatre meets music. Dance moves beyond the traditional stage. Personal stories encounter history. Familiar spaces become performance environments.
Different voices and artistic languages come together to create something that none could have made alone.

2026 Theme:
LIMINAL
The result is work shaped not only for young people, but increasingly with and by them — giving students meaningful ownership of the ideas, stories and creative decisions that eventually reach the audience.
This year’s festival includes the interdisciplinary opening production Where Do We Go Now?, asking what the generation after SG60 might inherit and shape; The Bird That Could Not Land: Between Two Shores, an intimate exploration of separation, identity and belonging set against the echoes of Singapore’s own separation; MOTIV, a site-responsive dance experience transforming familiar campus spaces through movement and audience encounter; and Threshold, an immersive exploration of mental health, perception and the spaces between comfort and discomfort.
From our Creative Director
Every year, Tapestry gives our students an opportunity to step beyond what is familiar — to take creative risks, work with people outside their own disciplines, and discover what becomes possible when an idea is allowed to grow, change and sometimes surprise us.
That spirit feels especially fitting for LIMINAL. The space in between can be uncertain and uncomfortable, but it can also be where some of our most meaningful discoveries happen. This year, our students have been encouraged not simply to perform, but to question, experiment, collaborate and take greater ownership of the stories they want to tell.
What excites me most about Tapestry is not only what eventually appears on stage. It is everything that happens along the way — the conversations, mistakes, unexpected connections and moments when different people come together to create something none of them could have imagined alone.
I hope you will join us, encounter these works with an open mind, and perhaps leave seeing something — or somewhere familiar — a little differently.
