What happens when dance leaves the stage?

In MOTIV, the campus itself becomes the performance space.

Familiar places are transformed through movement, sound, architecture and human connection, inviting audiences to experience spaces they may pass through every day in an entirely different way.

​

Created by TP Dance Ensemble, MOTIV continues the group’s exploration of site-specific performance — dance created not simply to be placed in a location, but in response to it. Walls, pathways, distances, textures and the movement of people through a space all become part of the work.

​

Rather than keeping performer and audience separated by a conventional stage, MOTIV brings them into a more immediate relationship with movement and place. Through choreography, environment and encounter, everyday spaces become living performance environments — revealing new perspectives on memory, identity, purpose, relationships and personal growth.
